Quark asks Odo for protection from Maura. Odo instructs Quark to go ahead and sell the bar. Dax, Bashir, and Koleth begin searching for the K'Tang in an area of the Gamma Quadrant known as the Abyss. While the Cardassians prepare for war, Quark concludes the sale of his bar and Odo sneaks aboard Maura's ship. Quark enlists Morn to check the cargo containers that Maura was transporting. In the Abyss, evidence proving that Cardassians didn't destroy the K'Tang is found. Sisko gives the Klingon and Cardassian delegations an ultimatum. Quark finds Romulan disruptors in Maura's cargo. The away team's investigation leads them to a planet wracked by ion storms. They land, hoping to find K'Tang survivors, but find Romulans instead. Stardate 47295.9
